Gucci reopens its boutique in Galleria Cavour. The new store that opened on Wednesday, November 28th in the quadrivium of the Gallery, occupying the location that was the historic Caffè Viscardi, has a surface of about 300 square meters, double the previous store. The dominant color chosen is rust, both for the furniture and for the wood floor. A reference to the colors of Bologna, for a store that wants to be as welcoming as a living room, with the warmth of the typical hospitality of the people in Bologna.
This week I visited the new Gucci Wooster Bookstore.
Gucci Wooster, the experiential retail space the fashion brand opened in Soho in May, gets an exciting new addition in the form of the Gucci Wooster Bookstore.
Designed as a hub for creativity and innovation in the heart of the original arts community of New York City, Gucci Wooster has become a destination for those seeking the creative and innovative spirit of the district. And the latest iteration of this creative hub is the addition of a good old-fashion bookstore.
Featuring a carefully-curated selection of approximately 2,000 titles focusing on avant-garde art, fashion, design, culture, photography, and an eclectic range of niche magazines, The Gucci Wooster Bookstore is a collaboration with legendary Dashwood Books and its founder David Strettell.
The intimate reading nook is meant to host shoppers looking to for a cozy place to sit and browse, as well as book signings and cultural events for neighbors and friends.
The bookstore will also feature titles that inspire Gucci designer Alessandro Michele’s work. Michele incorporates literary references into the brand’s fashions and plans to add new books to the nook when they end up informing a look.
Gucci has officially opened a haute new location at Copley Place in Boston, which reflects the new design concept, the brainchild of Creative Director Alessandro Michele. The sprawling 4,500 square foot luxury space offers style mavens and trendsetting Bostonians a glimpse of cutting-edge fashions for both men and women. Here, you will find everything from ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, handbags, luggage and small leather goods for women to leather goods, jewelry, watches and accessories for men.
Gucci has relaunched its 12,915 sq ft store on Sloane Street in London, after an extensive renovation. Spread across two floors, the store houses Gucci’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collection, and accessories such as handbags, luggage, footwear, jewelry and eyewear.
There is a VIP room, where clients can receive a bespoke shopping experience. The new design combines traditional and modern aesthetics. Velvet armchairs and vintage oriental rugs sit alongside dark hardwood floors and cabinets, along with more industrial touches.

I had the pleasure meeting with Angelo Michilli last week at the newly opened Gucci store on Wooster St. I was excited to visit the space and know more about the project and the design.
Angelo Michilli is the President of Michilli Inc, the General Contractor who has brought the new Gucci store to life.
The project took 6 months of construction. The previous Anthropologie store was completely stripped down and Michilli’s team worked extensively with the Gucci’s designer and Store Planning Dept in order to bring back the details and materials of the original space including walls and ceiling.
The massive, 10,000 square-foot space has an open floor plan with free standing furniture. The furniture was manufactured in Italy and some of the pieces are very unique; for example, the two antique cabinets from old apothecaries.
The floor was restored by Michilli Inc and hand painted by three Italian artists. The design incorporates the concept used at the Gucci Garden in Florence.
The space houses an interactive LED wall, 3-D video displays, the new DIY technology and a small movie theater in the back of the store where visitors can sit and watch the 20 minutes show. On top of that, Gucci Wooster will be the first to preview the brand’s new Dapper Dan collection two months prior to other locations.
I want to thank Angelo Michilli for sharing with me this experience and the details of the project. Congratulations to the Michilli’s team for the amazing result.

Gucci has opened the doors to its first store in New York City‘s SoHo neighborhood.
The new Wooster Street location is a bohemian blend of Italian artistry mixed with the industrial roots of the building. The space occupies 10,000 square feet in which its original framework is reworked with hand-painted floor designs and bold interior staging. Vintage furniture and fixtures add a throwback feel to the former site of a pencil factory. The store will include a theater of sorts with a 3D video display for viewers to step into the realm of Gucci.
