Minimalist Japanese retailer Muji is set to launch its seventh location on the West Coast of the United States in Santa Monica, Calif. Poised to total nearly 10,500 sq. ft., the store along the Third Street Promenade will be the company’s largest in the West Coast market upon opening in September. In addition to traditional merchandise, the store will also be the first in the U.S. to host the Re-Muji line, which recycles pieces from previous seasons now re-dyed in indigo.
A location in Portland, Ore., is expected to follow the September opening in Santa Monica. The company plans to also expand into other U.S. markets, including Seattle, Texas and Washington, D.C.
