French luxury brand Hermès has signed a new lease for a five-story structure along Madison Avenue in New York. Connected to a restored bank, the modern building will serve as a new retail flagship beginning in 2022.
The site totals about 40,000 sq. ft., and features a terrace on the fourth floor as well as an outdoor rooftop space. The forthcoming flagship will also arrive in somewhat close proximity to existing Hermès men’s and women’s stores.
Hermès is expanding its footprint nationwide, with a 6,700-sq.-ft. unit slated to open at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Fla. Next month will see the debut of a three-level, 10,000-sq.-ft. store in New York’s Meatpacking District, while an 8,000-sq.-ft. outpost will be launched in East Rutherford, N.J. in the near future as well.
