4. Hermès Unveils Expanded Waikiki Location

   French luxury brand Hermès of Paris has expanded its store at the Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki. The Hawaiian outpost is the company’s third-highest volume retail location, just behind stores in New York and Beverly Hills, Calif. WWD reports that the expansion from 8,700 sq. ft. to 13,000 sq. ft. coincides with the store’s 30th anniversary.

   The redesign has grown the boutique into a three-level flagship that features a wider range of products as well as amenities like a private salon and VIP rooms. New external claustra panels allow for the gentle infusion of light while also providing shade from the tropical sun in tandem with two metal canopies. A three-story window on the side entrance is framed by a cable grid to support climbing plants.

   Dickinson Cameron Construction, Atmosphere Design Group and Aurora Glazing Solutions are the General Contractor, Architect and Storefront companies who have worked on the project.

   In preparation for Louis Vuitton’s renovation of the Gump Building (Honolulu, HI), the construction of the temporary spaces is completed and opened for customers. Designed by Winick Architects and built by Dickinson Cameron Construction.

   This will be Dickinson Cameron Construction’s 6th store at Royal Hawaiian in 6 years. Construction of Louis Vuitton’s Gump Building project is slated to begin Spring 2019.

8. Louis Vuitton is Planning to Remodel the World Famous and Historic Gump Building in Honolulu HI

   The Gump Building has been a landmark for Hawaii luxury retail since 1929 located on Kalakaua Ave. The Temp store location will start in July 2018 and construction on the Gump building will start in September with a slatted opening for March/April 2019

   Dickinson Cameron Construction, Winick Architects, and RMOD Retail Construction Consultants will be working with Louis Vuitton on the project.

9. Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO to open its first Hawaii store at Ala Moana Center

   Japanese clothing brand UNIQLO on Friday said it will open its first Hawaii store in at Ala Moana Center this fall. The company will occupy approximately 17,300 square feet of retail space across two levels at the countries largest outdoor shopping mall. Prior to the official store opening, UNIQLO will introduce its products to the market via a pop-up store in June.
