Parisian luxury brand Hermès has opened a new pop-up in New York dedicated to its footwear offerings. Located in the SoHo section of Manhattan, the 1,250-sq.-ft., freestanding shop will be open to the public for the next six months. The women’s section of the pop-up is adorned with hardwood floors, track lighting, and exposed air ducts, while a suspended bench and lavender imagery serve as focal points. In the men’s area, modular leather furniture and white shelving are installed against burgundy walls
In spring 2019, Hermès also plans to open a three-level, 10,000-square-foot unit at 46-48 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District. Once the new SoHo and Meatpacking units open, Hermès’ will have six Manhattan stores, an unusual expansion at a time when many other retailers are shuttering stores and downsizing.
