Swedish furniture provider IKEA has announced plans to roll out a new series of smaller format stores in high-density commercial corridors. The first of the new miniature units will open along Tottenham Court Road in London later this year, showcasing a more concentrated range of kitchen and bathroom designs.
The company also is plotting a 24-hour delivery service to better accommodate the high volume of daily online purchases, with new order and collection points in the works in U.K. markets of Birmingham and Norwich, as well as an East London Westfield outpost.
