The German discount grocer, which made its U.S. debut in 2017, plans to open 50 new stores by the end of 2021, with locations in Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
The grocer, which operates over 11,000 stores in 32 countries, has been steadily expanding its U.S. supply chain network. Earlier this year, it opened its third U.S. regional headquarters and distribution center, in Cecil County, Maryland, to support its store network. A fourth distribution center, in Covington, Georgia, is set to open during the next two years.
